For many years, I believed I had to leave a legacy. I was preoccupied with the idea of immortalizing myself, of my time in this world having weight, an inheritance. I thought I had to build something lasting, something that would say, "I was here." Over time, I came to understand that I owe the world nothing. That living doesn't demand justifying every step, nor paying back with works what life gives us. Today, I write with no pretense of transcending. I write because it gives me pleasure. Because I am happy when I do it. Because in writing, I brought together all the vocations I dreamed of and that life did not always allow me to pursue.

Writing is, for me, the best way to live. The most authentic one. It is my way of being myself without having to ask for permission, without filters or concessions. In my youth, out of a hunger—for meaning, for a path, for certainties—I knocked on many doors, walked many paths, and I was a bit of everything. Today I understand that all those steps were necessary to get here. To find myself.
